Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the SE USPA and the BPO

The Baltic Ports Conference 2025, organised by the Baltic Ports Organization and the Port of Gdańsk, this year’s host was held during the 23rd International Maritime and Military Fair BALTEXPO 2025 in Gdańsk on 6-8 October. The event programme included topics related to the prospects for port development in the face of contemporary challenges, as well as environmentally friendly solutions and safety issues in the maritime sector. During the conference, a Memorandum of Cooperation between USPA and BPO was signed.

The Baltic Ports Conference was officially opened by Kimmo Naski, outgoing BPO Chairman, Arkadiusz Marchewka, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, Piotr Grzelak, Deputy Mayor for Sustainable Development and Economy at the City of Gdańsk and Alan Aleksandrowicz, Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance and Security at the Port of Gdańsk Authority. The opening session was moderated by Bogdan Ołdakowski, BPO Secretary General.

Following session I, titled “How the times are (should be) changing – exactly,” which included a keynote speech, a presentation, a panel discussion, and a speech by a representative of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration (USPA), the official signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration (USPA) and the Baltic Ports Organization (BPO) took place. The agreement was signed on behalf of the USPA by Vitalii Vaidych, Head of Investments and Public-Private Partnership Department of the Head Office, and on behalf of the BPO by Bogdan Ołdakowski, Secretary General.

The agreement aims to develop partnership, exchange of experience, and implement joint projects in the areas of investment, green technologies, digitalization, and energy efficiency. The cooperation is intended to strengthen the integration of Ukrainian ports into the European logistics network and open new opportunities for development.
