The Baltic Ports for Climate Conference 2025, organised by the Baltic Ports Organization and the Port of Gdynia, this year’s host will bring together leaders, experts, and innovators from across the Baltic Sea Region and Europe to address one of the maritime sector’s most urgent challenges: climate change. Taking place on 19-20 November 2025 in Gdynia, Poland, the conference will explore how ports can reduce emissions, implement sustainable strategies, and collaborate on innovative solutions that shape the future of maritime transport and supply chains.
The Baltic Ports for Climate Conference is a fairly new initiative launched in 2023, reflecting the Baltic Ports Organization’s strong commitment to active involvement in climate, environmental and sustainable development issues.
The conference will begin on the evening of 19 November with a welcome reception, providing participants with the opportunity to network and connect in an informal setting. Over the following day, participants will explore how ports can align with European climate strategies, implement effective emission reduction measures, and integrate sustainability into long-term development.
The program will include a keynote speech on the EU Port Strategy and its implications for climate policies. Case studies and presentations will demonstrate how climate considerations are being incorporated into development planning and port operations.
Further sessions will focus on the transition from strategies to practical action, with discussions on investment in renewable energy, emission reduction in terminal operations, and the role of innovative technologies such as digital tools for monitoring and calculation. A dedicated session on decarbonising port operations and supply chains will provide insights from the Blue Supply Chains project, in which BPO is one of the partners, highlighting how ports and industry stakeholders can collaborate to accelerate the green transformation.
After the substantive sessions, participants will have the opportunity to join a guided tour of the port facilities, providing a chance to see innovative solutions in practice.
Be part of the climate conference on 19-20 November in modern and compact Gdynia!
