The Baltic Ports Organization (BPO) and Mr Andriks Ameriks, MEP, have once again the pleasure to invite all BPO Members to take part in the annual BPO Lunch Debate, focused on the impact the Fit for 55 package, introduced last year by the European Commission (EC), on the overall port competitiveness.
Discussed topics will include the proposed inclusion of maritime transport in EU’s Emission Trading System (ETS), effects of a potential switch in vessel calls towards non-EU ports on CO2 emissions and trade, as well as the resulting possibility of a shift in the competitiveness level of EU ports versus non-EU ports.
The debate will be held online on 29 March 2022 from 10.00 to 12.00 CET.
